 $7 Posse Shack

    Breakfast

The Sheriff's Posse organizes a monthly cowboy breakfast. Six of the yearly breakfasts benefit the Sheriff's posse organization, while the proceeds from the other six benefit local non-profit organizations. The breakfasts take place on the 1st Sunday of every month.

Los Alamos Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals (FOSCA) takes our turn hosting the July 7 Pancake Breakfast, courtesy of the Posse Lodge.  The breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Posse Lodge on North Mesa.  The menu includes: scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage, as well as orange juice and coffee.

Los Alamos Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of homeless animals by promoting adoption and paying for medical care and spay/neutering of homeless animals in north central New Mexico.

Through the FOSCA veterinary assistance program, we will provide about $22,000 to help pay for veterinary care for homeless animals and pets whose owners cannot afford extensive treatment.  FOSCA pays for treatment of heartworm disease and parvovirus, surgery for removal of broken legs, dental treatments, and removal of cysts and tumors.  These life-saving treatments allow beloved pets to go home with their devoted owners.  In 2018, FOSCA “saved Christmas” for two families by providing funds to help pay for abscess removals on Slinky the dog and Miss M the cat.

FOSCA also provides funding to individuals and rescue groups to spay/neuter 500 cats and dogs each year, significantly contributing to the effort to reduce the population of unwanted pets in New Mexico. We are especially proud to be working with rescue groups in three northern New Mexico Pueblos and the Navajo Nation to reduce endemic pet overpopulation in those areas.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Pancake Breakfast in the future!
