Los Alamos, New Mexico
2025 Dog Jog Logo Contest!
Tails are wagging all over Los Alamos in anticipation of the 2025 Los Alamos Dog Jog, to be held Saturday, April 26th. The Dog Jog is an annual fundraiser for the Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals, an all-volunteer organization that uses this money to provide funding for spay/neuter programs and veterinary care for ill and injured dogs and cats whose owners cannot afford expensive care for their beloved pets.
The Dog Jog Committee is calling on all creative young artists to put your imaginations and love of dogs to work by submitting a drawing for the 2025 Dog Jog Logo Contest! The Logo Contest is open to youngsters in third through sixth grades whose family lives or works in Los Alamos County. The winning design will be used as the official 2025 Los Alamos Dog Jog logo and will be placed on event t-shirts and other official event materials. The Logo Contest winner will also receive one free t-shirt. The contest entry form and guidelines can be found at Pet Pangaea and online at www.lafos.org. We have extended the deadline for the logo entry until Monday March 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. If you have more questions about the Dog Jog, call 505-660-1648.

We were very happy this year to have several Girl Scouts participating who are working towards their Animal Care Badges. The girls walked rescue dogs Ricochet and Max, who had a fantastic time and soaked up all the attention. We also were happy to have an adoptable shelter dog Zoey, from the Espanola Valley Humane Society, join us - as you can see she really enjoyed the special toy that she received.
All of the proceeds from the Dog Jog go to benefit the Los Alamos Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals, and this is our most important annual fundraiser, bringing in about $15000 each year. We would like to thank all of our sponsors who made this possible for their generosity and their love of animals. Our top sponsors this year included two new sponsors, Christina Munoz from the Bank of Albuquerque and Miranda Miller with RE/MAX First, as well as returning sponsors, Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital, Ameriprise, Lorraine Hartway LLC, Lou Santoro State Farm, Blue Window Bistro and New Mexico Bank and Trust. We would also like to thank our other sponsors including The Running Hub, Rendija Dog Walks, Los Alamos Coop Market, Los Alamos Medical Center, and LA Dog House.
We want to send out a very special thank you to
Cyndi Wells and Pet Pangaea. Cyndi has supported
us every year, providing finish line toys for every dog
as well as gift cards and sponsor donations. Please
enjoy the pictures of the dogs enjoying their toys and
remember to support Pet Pangaea because it is a
great business to have in our town and because
they support local organizations like ours and enable
us to do our important work to help animals live happy
and healthy lives. Please remember to shop with
Pet Pangaea! You can call them at 505-661-1010 or
order online at petpangaea.com. They have a
convenient pick-up location downtown, just behind
the post office, in the Los Alamos Small Business
Center at 190 Central Park Square, Suites 121-122.
And, finally a big Thanks! to all of our participants,
dogs and humans, runners, walkers, strollers,
amblers, we appreciate you all!

Zoey, an adoptable pup from the Espanola Valley Humane Society, really enjoyed her outing to the Dog Jog and had a lot of fun playing with her special toy!
Most enthusiastic prize winner Holly selects her toy at the 5K finish line – or maybe she’d just rather go around again…
